Reflections

It used to be in the days of my youth
It seemed the evil one was me
A beautiful girl opened my eyes
I learned the meaning of sacrifice…of sacrifice

And I raised my eyes to the sun
Hoping the light could still be won
By a champion of faith
Not a cold hearted mate
And I cried in my sleep
Only to wake up alone
And my friends around me spoke
And I turned my eyes to the sun
Hoping my voice could still be won
Could still be won

Then I looked in the eyes of my friends
The only ones I knew
And I realized they were there
To see me through

Then I begun living life for me
I am not the bad one I am me

I saw it in their eyes, a love that's real
Not something that's pretend, not something you can steal
